Abstract
English
Treatment of anal carcinoma is accompanied by varying severity of side effects. This dissertation surveys a potential correlation between the severity of acute organ toxicity during radiochemotherapy and the prognosis for patients with anal carcinoma. For this purpose a sample of 72 patients, which were treated for anal carcinoma, was investigated. The data was collected in the department for radiotherapy and radiooncology of the university hospital Göttingen between 1992 and 2009. All patients received normofractionated (1.8 Gy/fraction) whole-pelvis irradiation at the primary tumor region and at the iliac and inguinal lymph nodes up to a cumulative dose of 50,4 Gy. The accompanying chemotherapy consisted of a continual i.v. infusion of 5-FU (1000 mg/m
