The kinetics of the homopolymerization of butyl acrylate at high pressure and temperature was investigated. Branches, terminal double bonds and the amount of trimer were analyzed quantitatively and used for determination of rate coefficients. In addition, the propagation rate coefficient of the butyl acrylate dimer was determined using the PLP-SEC-method.The chain transfer activity of cyclohexene, propene and 1-octene in the homopolymerization of ethene was deduced from the molecular weight distribution and the influence on monomer conversion was tested. The three substances have hydrogen in the allylic position. Using simulation techniques the activation energy of the addition of ethene to such allylic radicals was obtained.de
