| de |

dc.description.abstracteng | Wind belonging to the PDI-family is located in the ER and is involved in dorso ventral patterning in drosophila. It is responsible for the correct targeting of Pipe, a transmembrane protein in Golgi. In colaboration with Dept. of Structural CHemistry University of Göttingen we succeeded in cristallizing Wind. As it turned out, Wind is a homodimer- constisting of a N-terminal thioredoxin- and C-terminally located D-domain. Both domains are connected via a linker region. By point mutagenesis of Wind I could identify a binding site for Pipe. It is mainly a cluster of tyrosines (Y53, Y55).By deletions of domains in Wind I characterized all domains involved in interacteion with Pipe. | de |
