Abstract
English
This thesis examines whether and how economic organization theory especially in the form of principal agent theory, can be extended by the factor of 'intrinsic motivation'. Following previous research by Bruno S. Frey, special emphasis is put on the crowding-out of intrinsic motivation by extrinsic rewards.Based on these preliminary findings the discussion then turns to the organizational structures currently found in the advisory centers of church-related welfare institutions and how these can be judged under the aspect of motivational factors. Finally, the consequences for the practical work of advisory centers is investigated, primarily involving organization, personnel and marketing. Recommendations for establishing a motivation-oriented management structure are proposed.
