6 contributions apply concepts of environmental and political economics to nature conservation issues driven by individual behaviour. The extended capital Theory (G.S. Becker) in improved by the implementation of identity capital and distinction benefit (Chapter 1). The psychological basis for conflicts, perspectives of regional, cooperative resolution of conflicts and factors for success are explored in the context of practical regional nature conservation projects in an agricultural landscape (Chapters 2, 4, 5). Chapter 3 proposes to use contingent evaluation methods as instrument for public participation within the impact regulation to explore regional non-market values. Finally a parable points at the danger of transfer theoretical and scientific knowledge to practise and requests to balance them against different requirements, perceptions and knowledge.

In 6 Beiträgen werden umwelt- und politik-ökonomische Analysen zur Lösung von Naturschutzfragen, die im Bereich des individuellen Verhaltens ihre Ursache haben, untersucht. Der Kapitaltheorie wird um Identitätskapital und Distinktionsnutzen erweitert (Kapitel 1). Psychologische Konfliktgrundlagen, Perspektiven regionaler, kooperativer Konfliktlösung und Erfolgsfaktoren vor regionalen Umweltprojekten werden anhand von Agrar-Praxisprojekten untersucht (Kapitel 2,4,5). Kapitel 3 entwickelt die Zahlungsbereitschaftsanalyse als Instrument der Bevölkerungsbeteiligung im Rahmen der Eingriffsregelung zur Ermittlung regionaler, nicht marktgängiger Wertschätzungen. Schließlich weißt eine Parabel daran hin, dass die Übertragung von Theorie und Wissenschaft in die Praxis, sorgfältig gegen andere Erkenntnisse, Bedürfnisse und Sichtweisen abgewogen werden muss.
