Abstract
English
In this dissertation, bulky multidentate ligands 1-aza-allyl, N-functionized aryl, diketiminato were used for the preparation of novel aluminum compounds in all oxidation states. The reactivity of base stabilized aluminum hydrides towards chalcogens were investigated. The reduction of diketiminato aluminum dihalide with potassium afforded the first instance of a carbene analogue of aluminum, whereas similar reduction in the presence of alkynes generated cyclopropene analogues of aluminum. The reactions and structures of these unique species were presented.
