This study examined Symptoms of the oral cavity and their association with local microbiological and clinical findings as well as their influence on the subjective well-being of palliative care patients. Correlations between plaques and Xerostomia, Dysgeusie and yeasts could be found.

Die vorliegende Studie untersucht, ob sich eine enorale Beschwerdesymptomatik auf eine Veränderung der normalen Mundflora oder klinisch manifeste Befunde zurückführen lässt, und inwieweit nachgewiesene klinische oder mikrobiologische Veränderungen der Mundhöhle Auswirkungen auf das Wohlbefinden des Palliativpatienten haben. Unter Anderem konnten Zusammenhänge zwischen Belägen in der Mundhöhle, Xerostomie, Dysgeusie und Mykosen hergestellt werden.
