Abstract

English

Subject of the research was the question, to what extent a combination of two antibiotics can contribute to reducing the inflammatory reaction and thus the long term damages in the experimental bacterial Pneumococci Meningitis. The results of an animal-testing based model showed that the inflamation parameters showed significantly lower scores after a treatment with Rifampin, followed by Ceftriaxone than in the therapy based solely on Ceftriaxone.
Keywords: Rifampin; Ceftriaxone; Streptococcus pneumoniae; Apoptosis; Necrosis; long term damages

Other Languages
