Abstract

English

In the Department of Anatomy at the Medical school of the University of Göttingen, 611 skulls of bodydonors were examined for the presence of Hyperostosis frontalis interna, Hyperostosis frontoparietalis or Hyperostosis cranialis interna macroscopically, radiographically and microscopically. Based on the findings a new classification has been created, which covers both: the strength and the extension of hyperostotic changes. The results of the investigations were statistically processed. The prevalence, aetiology and differential diagnosis of the disease were discussed.
Keywords: Hyperostosis frontalis interna; Morgagni-Syndrom; Hyperostosis cranialis; Hyperostosis frontoparietalis

Other Languages
