| de |

dc.description.abstracteng | Malignant germ cell tumors of the testis are the most common solid malignant tumors of men. They are classified into seminomas and nonseminomas. Nonseminomas are further divided into embryonal carcinoma, yolk sac tumor, choriocarcinoma and teratoma. The accurate histopathological classification of the testicular germ cell tumors is essential for the subsequent therapy. Using tissue-microarrays, 10 already known and also some new immunohistochemical markers were investigated. Normal testicular tissue did not show any expression of the markers, while intratubular germ cell neoplasia and seminomas were positive for PLAP, Oct-3/4, D2-40, CD 117 and CD 9. Embryonal carcinomas showed a positive result for Pan-CK, Sox2, CD 9 and CD 30, while teratomas were positive for Pan-CK und CD 9. The positive reaction for Pan-CK and AFP respectively ß-HCG in yolk sac tumors and choriocarcinomas was confirmed. The developed immunohistochemical algorithm might be used for the exact histopathological diagnosis of malignant testicular germ cell tumors. | de |
