Abstract

English

This dissertation deals with the topic, if a spreading depression can be induced into the brainstem of rats. For the experiments rats were used of different age. This was important to get the information how the brainstem tissue of different aged rats can be affected through spreading depression episodes. Spreading depression is a membranous depolarisation which is associated with different diseases like migraine, sudden infant death syndrome, stroke and epilepsy.
