Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the success rate of immediately loaded interforaminal implants stabilized through cortical satellite implants and furthermore to assess the patient satisfaction. Material and Methods: 86 patients (54 female, 32 male, average age 64 years) received two single standing screw implants (Semados, Bego, Bremen / Xive, Friadent, Mannheim). With the help of subgingival connectors attached to the implant abutments all implants were stabilized through cortical satellites during the healing period. Using ball attachments mandibular overdentures were incorporated immediately after surgery. After 3 months the satellite implants were removed. 62 patients completed their follow up after an average observation period of 52 months. Outcome measures were marginal bone level changes, survival rate, soft tissue aspects, Periotest values, patient satisfaction and oral health-related life quality (OHIP). Results: Overall 5 implants were lost during the study period. The average implant survival rate was 97,28%. The mean marginal bone loss was 1,06 mm and the mean Periotest value was -4,86. Overall patient satisfaction and oral health quality was rated positively. 97 % of the patients would recommend the treatment. Conclusion: The follow up data indicates that the concept of stabilizing two interforaminal implants through satellite implants allows immediate full loading of these with mandibular overdentures.Therefore this concept may enhance the patients post surgical comfort as well as oral health-related life quality.

Absicht: Ziel dieser Studie war die Beurteilung der Erfolgsrate sofortbelasteter interforaminaler Implantate, unter Anwendung kortikaler Satelliten Implantate sowie die Bewertung der Patientenzufriedenheit und oralen Lebensqualität. Material und Methode: 86 Patienten (54w, 32m, Durchnittsalter 64 Jahre) erhielten jeweils zwei enossale Implantate in der Regio interforaminalis. Durch Verwendung zusätzlicher Satellitenimplantate wurde das eigentliche Zentralimplantat über einen Konnektor stabilisiert. Direkt nach der Implantation wurden die umgearbeiteten Deckprothesen eingesetzt und über Kugelattachments fixiert. Nach 3 Monaten wurden die Satellitenimplantate wieder entfernt. Von den anfangs 86 operierten Patienten konnten nach einem mittleren Beobachtungszeitraum von 52 Monaten 62 Patienten nachuntersucht und befragt werden. Es wurden Überlebensrate, horizontaler Knochenabbau, Periotestwerte, Sondierungstiefen sowie Patientenzufriedenheit und orale Lebensqualität (OHIP) ausgewertet. Ergebnisse: Insgesamt gingen 5 Implantate verloren. Die Überlebensrate dieser Studie betrug insgesamt 97,28%. Der horizontale Knochenverlust betrug im Mittel 1,06 mm und die Periotestwerte -4,86. Insgesamt wurde die Patientenzufriedenheit und orale Lebensqualität positiv bewertet. 97% der Patienten würden die Behandlung weiterempfehlen. Fazit: Das Konzept der Mikrofixation zweier interforaminaler Implantate durch Satellitenimplantate zeigt zuverlässige Ergebnisse und ermöglicht eine Sofortbelastung durch eine Deckprothese. Durch die Behandlung wurde eine hohe Patientenzufriedenheit sowie orale Lebensqualität erreicht.
