dc.description.abstract | Hintergrund: Das obstruktive
| de |

dc.description.abstracteng | Background: Obstructive sleep apnea is
recognized as a risc factor for cardio- and cerebrovascular disease
during the last years. The aim was to detect the influence of
obstructive sleep apnea on thromboembolic events considering
established risk factors for thromboembolic events. Patients and
methods: 56 patients were included in a case-controll-study between
07/2007 and 07/2008. 28 patients had a venous thromboembolism.
Matched pairs were formed with patients without venous
thromboembolism according to gender and predefined categories of
age and body mass index. Polygraphy, blood tests and questionaires
were analysed. In addition we compared the automatic and the manual
analysis of the polygraphy. Results: 46% of the patients with
venous thromboembolism had an obstructive sleep apnea syndrome, in
the cases without venous thromboembolism only 25%. So there is a
greater prevalence of obstructive sleep apnea in the cases with
venous thromboembolism (p=0,094). The difference between manual and
automatic analysis of the polygraphy is significant. Conclusion:
The study showed that there is a greater prevalence of obstructive
sleep apnea in patients with venous thromboembolism. Because of the
significant difference between automatic and manual analysis of the
polygraphy, there is a need to check the automatic results of the
polygraphy. | de |
