Abstract

This thesis examines the image of gynecological prescriptions from a late-medieval prescription collection. The prescriptions contains the production of various medicaments for the treatment of gynecological diseases, as well as gestation and birth. Different diseases are examined in the course of the thesis and are described in terms of the contemporary understanding of anatomy and pathology. Subsequent the individual prescriptions are listed which were examined in their effectiveness. The largest segment of the work shows the analysis of the each prescription and whose individual components and the comparison to other codices. The single prescriptions are shown in a edited form. Finally, there is the attempt to show/demonstrate parallels to modern medicine.

Die Dissertation behandelt die Abbildung gynäkologischer Rezepte aus einer spätmittelalterlichen Rezeptsammlung. Die Rezepte beinhalten die Herstellung verschiedener Arzneien zur Behandlung gynäkologischer Erkrankungen, sowie Schwangerschaft und Geburt. Die jeweiligen Erkrankungen werden im Verlauf der Arbeit aufgeführt. Diese werden nach dem damaligen anatomischen Verständnis und der Krankheitslehre beschrieben. Im Anschluss daran finden sich die einzelnen Rezepte, die in ihrer Wirksamkeit untersucht werden. Der größte Abschnitt der Arbeit stellt die Analysen der einzelnen Bestandteile dar. Es folgt der Vergleich zu anderen Kodizes. Die einzelnen Rezepte werden in der editierten Form dargestellt. Abschließend erfolgt der Versuch parallelen zur heutigen Medizin zu ziehen.
