Abstract

English

The heterotetrameric AP-1-complex is localized to trans-Golgi-Network (TGN) and early endosomes. It mediates specific clathrin-dependant vesicular pathways. In vertebrates three isoforms of its σ1 subunit are expressed: A, B and C. σ1A is ubiquitously expressed, while σ1B and σ1C are expressed in a tissue specific pattern. σ1B shows highest expression in brain. The phenotype of AP-1/σ1B-
