Leaf monkeys (Colobinea) constitute a very diverse group of primates with major radiations inAfrica and Asia. Among the langur group, Presbytis constitutes a particular diverse taxon. Based on molecular biological and bioacoustic methods the phylogenetic position of Presbytis among the Asian Colobines is examined, as well as a new classification of the genus and a phylogeographic scenario is proposed.

Schlank- und Stummelaffen (Colobinae), die in Asien und Afrika verbreitet sind, stellen eine äußerst vielfältige Gruppe innerhalb der Primaten dar. Vertreter der asiatischen Schlankaffen der Gattung Presbytis sind besonders divers. Anhand von molekularbiologischen, sowie bioakustischen Methoden wird die phylogenetische Position von Presbytis innerhalb der asiatischen Colobinae untersucht, sowie eine neue Klassifikation der Gattung und ein phylogeographisches Szenario zur Evolution von Presbtyis vorgeschlagen.
