dc.description.abstracteng | Summary
In 29 patients (16 women, 13 men) aged 70.2 ± 7.1 years was (55 to 83 years) to a total of 32
shoulder joints a humeral resurfacing by means made Durom Cup prosthesis. With 93.8% of the
shoulder joints was present primary osteoarthritis and 3.1% respectively at a post-traumatic
osteoarthritis or humeral head. After an average of 2.7 ± 2.1 years (0.5 to 9 years) with clinical and
radiological follow-up was performed.
The mean Constant score was 44.6 ± 10.6 preoperatively and postoperatively 61.4 ± 13.1 points, ie It
had been a highly significant improvement of 16.8 ± 10.5 points. The improvements related to all
subcategories of the Constant score (pain, activity, flexibility and strength).
After modifzierten DASH score assessed 21 patients (65.7%) their operational results subjectively as
excellent or good and 11 patients (34.4%) as satisfying the o-sufficient. Patients' expectations in
terms of pain reduction were met or exceeded in 90.6% to 62.5%. Regarding the function of the
expectations were met in 93.7% and also exceeded by 62.5%.
Gender and age were not correlated with the functional results. As an exception, patients aged over
68 years experienced greater pain relief (3.6 ± 1.8 points) than younger patients (1.8 ± 2.2 points, p
<0.05).
Radiologically, at two patient / shoulder joints a pronounced a marked sclerosis in the glenoid or
humeral head-high range and stand in each one patient, periarticular ossification or signs of
loosening with lysis hem formation and humeral head-high level. A revision or a replacement of the
prosthesis was necessary in any patient.
Compared with the literature comparing his results were comparable well as the results of other
authors with the Durom or the Copeland Cup. The treatment success of surface replacement was
independent of osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis as the underlying disease. The results of the
comparatively complication without resurfacing were not inferior to those after implantation of a
long shot endoprosthesis. | de |
