Abstract

Site-selective ruthenium-catalyzed C-H bond functionalization was achieved under carboxylate-assistance. Direct ortho- and meta-alkylations on various arenes with unactivated alkyl halides has been accomplished and unprecedented oxidative annulations for a step- and atom-economic heterocycle-synthesis was developed.
