Zusammenfassung
Englisch
Beef is one of the most important food products in Indonesia. Its consumption level tends to increase from time to time along with the changing of socioeconomics condition. In response to high demand for beef in domestic market, the Indonesian government has introduced a beef self-sufficiency program (BSSP) starting from 2010. In the field of agricultural economic sciences, the understanding of how market is working as a result of interactions among the actors along the chain as well as the policy implications is important. In this light, the price variable as a market signal remains as one of the main points of departure for market analysis. This dissertation aims to analyze price formation in Indonesian beef industry for the last 14 years covering the period from 2002 until 2015 focusing on the role of policy intervention. To this end, it provides empirical investigations on the price transmission processes in the beef industry in Indonesia both spatial and vertical analysis.
