Abstract

English

Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) techniques have been developed and employed to study small molecules in solution. A) Slice-selective excitation (SSE) enables the acquisition of spatially resolved spectra. This has been successfully used in (i) a reaction observation experiment, (ii) a titration experiment and (iii) a qualitative chromatography experiment. B) NMR spectroscopy of molecules within uniaxial environments facilitate the observation of anisotropic interactions. This has been employed to (i) study mechanisms of solute alignment, (ii) perform structure verification via residual dipolar couplings (RDCs) and (iii) perform structure verification via residual quadrupolar couplings (RQCs).
Keywords: NMR; Anisotropic Interactions; Slice-selective Excitation
