Abstract

English

In this thesis I present a newly developed, dynamical model for the turbulent, star-forming interstellar medium on scales of some ten parsecs, which is named MIST (Multi-phase Interstellar medium model with Star formation and Turbulence). The behavior of MIST was explored not only by means of its one-zone (quasi-) eqilibrium solutions but also in the framework of large eddy simulations of idealized isolated disk galaxies, where various observational findings could be reproduced simultaneously.

In dieser Arbeit stelle ich ein neu entwickeltes, dynamisches Modell für das turbulente sternbildende interstellare Medium auf Skalen von einigen zehn Parsecs vor, welches den Namen MIST (Multi-phase Interstellar medium model with Star formation and Turbulence) trägt. Das Verhalten von MIST wurde mittels seiner Ein-Zonen-Gleichgewichtslösungen aber auch im Rahmen von Large Eddy Simulationen untersucht, wobei verschiedenste Beobachtungsresultate gleichzeitig reproduziert werden konnten.
