Abstract
English
Angiopoietin-2 (Ang-2), an antagonist ligand of the endothelial-specific Tie2 receptor, inhibits the stabilizing influence of the Tie2 activator Ang-1, thereby promoting vascular remodeling. Elevated levels of Ang-2 are associated with impaired hemodynamic parameters and poor prognosis in patients with idiopathic pulmonary hypertension. This thesis aimed to investigate the prognostic value of Ang-2 in patients with acute pulmonary embolism (PE).
