Abstract
English
Gliomas belong to the most malignant cancers we know. It is accepted that origin of the disease and glioma progression is caused by glioma-initiating cells (GICs). These cells have stem-cell attributes and are thought to provide target for new therapeutic options. GIC`s still lack of reliable markers to be identified in the heterogenous Tumors. This study examines glioma cell line G112 in vitro and in vivo. Stem-cell attributes are investigated in vitro. A very invasive phenotype and radioresistance have been verified in an orthotopic model. A reliable model for invasive gliomas has been established and has been characterized for the first time.
