This thesis focusses on the preparation of bulky, NacNac-like bis(benzoxazol-2-yl)methane ligand platforms and their introduction to s-block metal coordination. Special focus is put on the synthesis of group 2 halide and -amide precursor compounds for subsequent reduction with alkali-metal reducing agents. First attempts to obtain reduced Mg(I) dimers are presented. All obtained compounds are thoroughly characterized. Moreover, the unprecedented synthesis of a solely O-coordinated organopotassium complex is discussed in detail, which exhibits a pronounced stability against hydrolysis.
Keywords: metal organic chemistry; bulky bis(benzoxazol-2-yl)methanes; NacNac; s-block metal coordination; alkaline earth metals; ligand engineering; hydrolysis stable complexes
