Inspired by tyrisonase, a dicopper enzyme catalyzing the aerobic oxidation of phenols, highly preorganized bioinspired dinuclear copper complexes with imidazole ligation were synthesized and their reaction with phenolic substrates under aerobic conditions were investigated.
