Thymomas and thymic carcinomas are the most common primary mediastinal tumors of the adult. Therapy strategies of thymic epithelial tumors are based on the histological WHO classification. Reviews pictured the low reproducibility of this classification. The purpose of this study was to identify further biomarkers to increase reproducibility of the histological classification. Due to genom and proteom analysis a database was created, that helps to identify further diagnostic und prognostic markers.
