Abstract

English

Contemporary climate change is accelerating. Meanwhile, “Has the Earth’s sixth mass extinction already arrived?” is inquired. The Permian–Triassic crisis, as a possible analog in the Earth history, has aroused great interest. It is characterized by the severest catastrophe based on a compilation of marine fossil records. However, various questions remain open, particularly about ecological changes during this critical interval. In order to have a more complete view of the ecosystem changes across the Permian–Triassic boundary, carbonate factories are investigated.
