Referenzabteil festgestellt. | de |
dc.description.abstracteng | When keeping livestock, an optimal stable climate is a basic prerequisite for ensuring
animal welfare and thus also economic success. The temperatures and the relative
humidity of the barn air should therefore be optimized to the needs of the pigs. Heat
waves, large fluctuations in barn air temperature and relative barn air humidity in the
barn air affect the animals and lead to reduced performance and feed intake, which
can be associated with reduced health. It can be expected that the requirements for
ventilation technology in animal production systems will continue to increase. Basically,
adiabatic cooling systems have established themselves. The effectiveness of these
systems is limited by outdoor climate conditions of relative humidity and outdoor
temperature. Materials available on the market are expensive to purchase and their
effectiveness and lifespan are limited.
The aim of this study was to analyze the variation of air volume flows and brick
perforated bricks on the cooling performance of supply air and conditioned exhaust air
under standardized conditions. It had to be clarified how the system reacts to the
influences of adiabatic humidification, pressure difference, temperature and relative
humidity. The results can then serve as a basis for the construction of a retrofittable
module on pig houses.
The investigation took place at the University of Göttingen under Central European
climatic conditions. Two identical modules were constructed for the measurement
periods. Only one parameter was ever changed compared to the reference module, so
that a direct comparison of effects was guaranteed. It was found that perforated bricks
are an alternative to traditional materials such as plastic pads. Temperature differences
of up to 6.5 K to the outside temperature were possible.
Practical trial
The requirements for ventilation technology in animal production will continue to
increase. It is not enough to pump more air volume flow into the compartment at high
speed to minimize heat waves. In the case of sows in the farrowing pen in particular,
two climate zones must be regulated. On the one hand the area around the sow with
temperatures of 16-22 °C, on the other hand the area around the piglets with 30-32 °C.
The aim of the present project is the development of an innovative, retrofittable con-air
module for supply air conditioning for pigsties. The supply air should be cooled as energy-efficiently as possible, the high temperature peaks reduced and the daily day night fluctuations dampened in order to achieve an improved stable climate. Perforated
bricks were used as an exchange surface for adiabatic humidification. The
investigations were carried out in a farrowing pen in the district of Vechta (Germany)
under practical conditions over a period of 26 months. In addition to the test
compartment, an identical reference compartment is available for the investigation. It
was found that during adiabatic humidification in the con-air module, a temperature
reduction of an average of 4.47 K compared to the outside temperature at an air speed
of 7.12 m s-1 and a water mass flow of 8.59 g s-1 was possible. A maximum temperature
difference of -15 K was determined. The average degree of humidification was 79.48%.
As a result, a significant temperature difference of 1.59 K on average was found
between the test and reference compartments. The relative humidity in the test
compartment increased to 65.82%. A uniform reduction in heat waves and temperature
amplitudes in the experimental compartment was observed. In the present study, a
tendency towards higher weaning weight of the piglets, a reduction in the THI as well
as the air volume flow and NH3 concentration in the test compartment compared to the
reference compartment was determined during the lactation period within 6 passages. | de |
