dc.description.abstracteng | The aim of this work was the development of an additive score for the prognostic classification of myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) patients with three or more chromosomal abnormalities.
To create the score, 253 patients were analyzed retrospectively. This score enables a prognostic classification using different parameters. Factors such as the influence of aberrations, cytopenias, the amount of blast cells and their combined occurrence have been taken into account.
In this study a connection between anomaly combinations with statistically unexpected frequency and distinct anomalies as well as their prognostic value in relation to the survival time of MDS patients could be shown.
Evidence could be provided that the combination of some anomalies not yet specifically associated with MDS has a negative effect on the course of the disease.
The score developed in this work is used to classify MDS patients with a complex karyotype into three different risk groups depending on aberrations and other clinical parameters. | de |
