Abstract
English
Adjuvant radio- or radiochemotherapy is considered an effective means of improving the overall survival or disease-free survival of patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma. Despite the advantage of adjuvant therapy, some patients reject it. The results of the present study provide an indication of whether these patients are at a disadvantage in terms of outcome. There was no statistical significance for the overall survival results, but a negative correlation between the rejection of adjuvant therapy and the outcome can be seen in the Kaplan-Meier curves. The outcome was tested in two groups. On the one hand, patients who refused adjuvant therapy, and on the other hand, patients who received adjuvant therapy.
