This dissertation analyzes the textual growth in Ezekiel 16. The Introduction provides an overview of the history of interpretation of the relationship of prophecy to history. After completing text critical work on each verse, Chapter 1 establishes the text and translates Ezekiel 16. Chapter 2 utilizes formulae and linguistic features in order to set forth the unity of the chapter. Chapter 3 analyzes linguistic features, discrepancies, and triggers as a means to discern the literary growth in the chapter. The conclusion proposes a relative and absolute chronology in order to situate the literary growth in historical contexts in the exilic, post-exilic, and hellenistic periods.de
