Anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) is a receptor tyrosine kinase belonging to the family of insulin receptors. It is considered to be a potential driver for the development of neuroblastoma, a complex and often therapy-resistant cancer, since genetic changes such as amplifications or point mutations of ALK can be detected in hereditary and sporadic neuroblastoma cases and lead to deregulated kinase activity. Still, the etiology of Neuroblastoma disease is not completely understood. This thesis investigates the influence of ALK as wild type and point mutations F1174L, R1275Q and I1250T on functional and morphological characteristics of neuroblastoma cells as these could serve as a potential indicator for malignant behavior.de
