An innovative teaching project #clue (cross-linked undergraduate education) has been established in the clinical phase of the human medicine curriculum at the Universitätsmedizin Göttingen (UMG). Here, students in clinical semesters can take part in formative assessments, which consist of previous exam questions. These assessments are selected in congruence with the content of the parallel classroom lectures. In terms of learning psychology, the project is based on the retrieval hypothesis, according to which repeated testing promotes the retention of knowledge (direct testing effect).
