Abstract

English

The violent onset of the Chilean military dictatorship on September 11, 1973 brought the immediate deployment of state terrorism, censorship and simulation as the main devices to achieve discipline and clean the political memories and their social fabric. Such an order led to the conformation of the nation's own re-founding project and the definitive outcome towards the 1980s was an authoritarian political and radical neoliberal model in both the economic and cultural areas. In this context of persecution, communicative coercion and uprooting of what is real, the poetic speeches did not retreat to silence or became remnants of the interrupted tradition but expanded their understandings concerning the scriptural act and their inscriptions towards the political place of the extratext, thus providing new ways of signifying the place assigned to bodies regarding violence and authority in order to understand them as spaces of power, intelligibility and resistance.
Keywords: Chilean poetry; Representations of the nation; Dictatorial regime and State terrorism; Intelligibility of power and the authority; Physical and spatial representations of violence

Other Languages
