dc.description.abstract | Recently, a new ionization technique in mass spectrometry named Laser-Induced-Liquid-Beam-Ion-Desorption (LILBID) has been developed. This technique is comparable in softness and efficiency to well established methods like Electrospray Ionization or Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization, but has the advantage to analyze solutes under physiological conditions. Here, we investigate the desorption mechanism of this new technique with the help of Monte Carlo and Molecular Dynamics simulations. We show why this method is so extraordinary "soft", i.e. non destructive to the solute, and develop a model, which describes the charging of the fragments during the desorption process. | de |

| de |
