Abstract
English
Diagnosing vascular dementia can be a significant challenge due to numerous differential diagnoses and overlapping clinical features. To supplement current neuropsychological and imaging diagnostic tools with an objective and sensitive diagnostic tool, Lipocalin-2 concentrations have been proposed as biomarker for vascular dementia, but limited and inconsistent data are available. This study evaluates Lipocalin-2 concentrations in cerebrospinal fluid and serum in relation to vascular dementia, differential diagnoses, other biomarkers, and clinical data.
