The thesis in hand deals with the drug experiments of author Ernst Jünger. Special emphasis is placed on his LSD - experiments. This thesis compares the symptoms of LSD induced ecstasy as shown by Ernst Jünger in his literature with psychiatric and pharmacological findings. First there is a short biography of Ernst Jünger. There follows a scrutiny of the drug experiments with regard to Jünger's intentions and a possible addiction. The pharmacological and historical classification of lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) is followed by a detailed description of Jünger's LSD - experiments and connecting the clinical symptoms with the literary images from his works “Approaches.
