Operatorproduktentwicklung. Im Zusammenhang damit diskutieren wir
Zimmermann'sche Normalprodukte und einen Begriff nichtlinearer
lokaler Feldgleichungen. | de |

dc.description.abstracteng | Quantum fields are known to be singular
objects; in particular, their products at coinciding space-time
points are ill-defined and lead to divergences. We present a
model-independent and mathematically consistent method of analysing
this singular behaviour. Starting from a quantum field theory
defined in terms of observables localized in finite space-time
regions, we investigate its short distance structure, assuming a
natural phase space condition. This leads us to precise information
on the theory's field content as well as to a rigorous version of
the operator product expansion. Zimmermann's normal products and a
notion of non-linear local field equations are discussed in this
context. | de |
